Gigabyte U24T-CF1
With the Gigabyte U24T-CF1 ultrabook will get the latest Intel processor technology, the solid-state drive storage and traditional, and game-worthy graphics with a slim 14-inch ultrabook form factor. Nothing particularly special about the design U24T, and its 10-point touch screen, while answering, tops out at a measly 1366 by 768 pixels. But if you are looking for an ultrabook with some multimedia encoding and graphics chops, the U24T-CF1 deserves a closer look.
Design and Features
If it seems familiar U24T-CF1 that is because it uses the same brushed metal chassis as its predecessor, the Gigabyte U2442T-CF1. Measuring 0.8 by 13.4 by 9.1 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.9 pounds the U24T is not as svelte 2.77-pound Toshiba Kirabook, but it is still quite portable and does not weigh you down while you're out and about you.
The left side of U24T-CF1 sports an Ethernet port, two USB 2.0 ports, headphone and microphone jacks, and a VGA output. Over on the right side are two USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, an HDMI video output, and the power jack. In addition to the wired LAN port and get 802.11b/g/n Bluetooth 4.0 wireless networking, and there's a 1.3-megapixel webcam embedded in the top of the display.
The 14-inch display uses a 10-point capacitive touch technology to deliver precise and responsive gesturing, swiping, pinching and zooming. The screen is covered with edge-to-edge glass and emit colorful colors, but 1366 by 768 resolution is thin compared to what you get with the Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus (3200 through 1800) and the Apple MacBook Pro 13 (2013) (2560 through 1600). Moreover, the display U24T-CF1 of suffering from narrow viewing angles; The picture becomes noticeably dimmer when viewed at around 45 degrees off center.
The silver keyboard deck hold a black island-style keyboard with backlighting. This is the same keyboard used Gigabyte U244T, and it is comfortable and responsive. Also, the multi-gesture touchpad and single-piece button mouse is responsive and a pleasure to use as well. The two speakers mounted under the perforated panel on top of the deck is strong enough but not deliver enough bass.
Windows 8 Pro installed on the 128GB mSATA solid-state drive. Other than a trial version of Microsoft Office U24T is devoid of bloatware; rather get Skype, fresh paint, and Gigabyte Smart Manager,'s control panel for things like adjusting the volume, turning on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios on and off, adjusting mouse settings and light, and enabling the webcam. For additional storage there is a 750GB, 5,400 rpm hard drive. Covered by the gigabyte U24T-CF1 with a two-year warranty, one year longer than what offers most laptop manufacturers.
