As you can see from the pictures, the Aspire E3-111-C1BW is very, very pink. Acer calls it "Rhodonite Pink," but not the name or picture may be enough to describe how it glaringly pink laptop. This thing screams pink so strong that you can almost hear it. But, lest you think I'm bashing the bold color choices, let me say this: For some consumers, the particular shade is actually sold. Strong colors tend to be divisive tech products, but there is definitely a market for it.
Apart from the impossible-to-ignore color, E3-111-C1BW is a fairly basic 11-inch system, with a plastic body that measures 0.83 by 11.5 by 8.3 inches (HWD) and weighs just 2.84 pounds . While you do give up some things for a smaller, slimmer system, such as an optical drive or larger port (like VGA port), the results are easy to pick up the laptop and go.
The 11.6-inch display has a basic 1366-by-768 resolution. It is not particularly impressive, but it is about as good as you can expect in this price range. It is one of the few systems we've seen in the size that does not include a link Acer Chromebook Choice C720P-2600 editors' With touch screen capability, though also. The two downward-firing speakers on the underside of the system to provide decent clarity, but low numbers and no bass.
Black keys on the keyboard contrast nicely against the pink, and the 11-inch chassis is large enough for a full-size keyboard. Set on the palm rest is a smooth touchpad with the same pink color as the rest of the laptop. The touchpad is clickable surface and the right and left buttons integrated into the bottom corner of its surface. It is relatively broad, measuring 4.1 inches across. Also offers pretty good support for Windows 8 gesture controls, like swiping to the side to get the menu, or scrolling and zooming with two fingers.
