Peanut butter and chocolate. Batman and Robin. Jeans and a T-shirt. Some things are just meant to go together. Lenovo wants to add a new pairing list: Chromebook and Yoga. Education-oriented ThinkPad Lenovo Yoga 11e Chromebook takes the best of both and throws in some ruggedization for good measure. In many ways, this is the best laptop based on Chrome OS, we have already seen, but it is also one of the most expensive. At $ 479 (as tested), the Yoga 11e Chromebook is far more expensive than the top performing Acer Chromebook C720P-2600, and that's enough to keep it from getting our full recommendation. But while it is no bargain, education-oriented Lenovo Chromebook is still an undeniable contender, and if you can imagine the company a way to knock a hundred bucks off the price list, it will get our clear recommendation .

design
Measuring 11.81 by 8.5 by 0.87 inches (HWD), the ThinkPad Yoga 11e Chromebook uses both multimode hinge so the Lenovo Yoga 2 11, which allows it to convert between the four different different modes: laptop, Stand, Tablet, and Tent. That's another mode than Lenovo N20p Chromebook and significantly increases the availability of the system. Yoga also makes 11e is the first device based on Chrome using the functionality of the tablet.

Metal and polycarbonate construction and solid hinges make it the sturdiest Chromebook I ever conflict. Yoga multimode hinge is a revelation, providing functionality Chromebook tablet with the same design've convertible laptop dominate Windows. The thing is heavy, but it also feel strong, thanks to MIL-spec rated rugged construction. The contingent been strengthened, and the whole device hardened against moisture, vibration, temperature, and dust. Perimeter of the glass-covered display is a rubber bumper that provides some protection to the display, and the display itself is covered with DragonTrail glass, which is both scratch- and crack-resistant.

The 11.6-inch screen has the same basic 1366-by-768 resolution seen in most of the Chromebook, but beneficial from an In-Plane Switching (IP) panel, which makes for great color and viewing of the angle. The difference seems also to be better than most of the competitors, resulting in very readable text, whether it is at arm's length (in Laptop mode) or held close (tablet mode). The display also has touch capabilities, with excellent accuracy in any mode.

The keyboard is one of the best I've used, if a Chromebook or standard laptop also. Gone are the shallow keys barely move when pressed and loose rattle in their frames. The chiclet-style keys are actually traveling, and provide some resistance when pressed, creates a typing experience that feeling far more significant than the other inexpensive systems eligible to offer. It is one of the best Lenovo keyboard complete with sculpted keycaps keyboard and automatic shut-off when in tablet mode.

The keyboard layout Chrome has a couple of small changes from the standard Windows or Mac setup, the Caps Lock key is now a dedicated search key, the function keys have different functions , and no Delete key, Backspace, but only the basic QWERTY layout is the same. Just below the spacebar is a multitouch clickpad, which supports gesture controls Chrome, like two fingers tapping and scrolling.
