ASUS Transformer Book T200TA-C1-BL ($ 499) is a compact, budget-hybrid detachable touch screen tablet with a great In-Plane Switching (IPS). You can use it like a laptop or detach screen tablet for use inside or outside the home. No excess offend, but other systems such as the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 (3147) $ 429.99 at Dell and Asus Transformer Book T100TA (64GB) $ 337.98 at Amazon will give you more additional features and performance for less money.
Design and Features
The T200TA $ 474.99 on Amazon is relatively compact, even with keyboard dock connected. It measures about 1 by 12 by 8 inches (HWD) and weighs 3.36 pounds. Undock the tablet, and it loses about half its thickness and weight pair it down to £ 1.69. Like Asus T100TA, our Editors' Choice for entry-level hybrid detachable tablet, all you need to pop off the screen to push a single button in the middle of a one-piece hinge. The screen tablet reattaches almost as fast. Because the hinge has a mechanical lock here, feel more secure than magnetic latch on tablets like the Acer Aspire move 10 $ 399.96 on Amazon and the Microsoft Surface 2 $ 364.45 on Amazon.
Connectivity is ideal for a detachable tablet. There is a full-size Ethernet port, one USB 2.0 port, and a USB 3.0 port on the keyboard dock. The tablet itself has a headset jack, a micro HDMI port, a micro USB 2.0 port, and a microSD card reader. I would prefer the full size of the port on the tablet itself, but still not much more general than the competition port.
Like most sealed tablet, the T200TA does not have an upgradable solid-state drive (SSD) or memory, but you can install a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD with keyboard dock. You need a Phillips screwdriver jeweler, and 15 minutes to add extra storage. You need to dock the tablet to access storage that, but installing a trip to the bay dock lets you carry your media files with you and supplements the integrated 64GB SSD in part tablet. Good thing, because the system has only about 40GB of storage for free after you run through the initial setup T200TA.
The full-size, non-backlit keyboard is comfortable to use, such as large-centered touchpad keyboard deck. The 11.6-inch screen with 1366-by-768 resolution capability and 10-point touch. The IPS panel lets you view the action from almost any angle. Videos and YouTube Web pages look beautiful, and the touch screen is responsive. Volume from the built-in speakers are a little soft. Want to be more satisfied with listening to music and videos through the headphone.
Bloatware was minimal, although the tiles on the Start screen larger than normal. You can see the flipbook, Fresh Paint, Line, Music Maker Jam, Netflix, Wild tangent Games, Zinio, and some Asus utilities preinstalled. The system has a one-year warranty.
