HP Chromebook 11

HP Chromebook 11
If you still on the fence about trying Google Chrome OS, the HP Chromebook 11 may be just what you need to reach the tipping point. The slim design and fine appearance is matched with a small number of liberal freebies, like free Google Drive storage space, a test of unlimited music, and free inflight Wi-Fi, but it is the small improvements and innovative -likha help to set it apart. Considering that this is not the first crack of HP Chromebook, it is a definite step up, putting the budget-friendly laptop at the same level as the previous favorites.

design
The Chromebook has 11 sleek new design, with clean white exterior and rounded corners that call to mind the old white Apple MacBook, but with a splash of color. At the bottom of the laptop are two large rubbery legs, brightly colored hues familiar Google (Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green). The first model is available only in white and blue color scheme, but other colors will be available soon, and an unadorned black version is also available.

There are several unique features of the Chromebook 11 stand out. The first is the display, which has been upgraded from basic panels used in Acer Chromebook C7 (C710-2055) and Samsung Chromebook Series 3 (XE303C12) Chromebook an IPS panel. The wider color gamut means that the colors pop more, and the display is much wider viewing angle. Unfortunately, although the quality of the panel is improved over previous Chromebook, it is still limited to 1366 by 768 resolution. At this price, however, the 720p picture quality is no surprise. It is also brighter than most laptop displays, with 300 nits backlight. Placed side by side with the Acer C7, the HP Chromebook 11 clearly has better display, even with the same low resolution.

The charger is also unique, such as HP Chromebook 11 is the first laptop to use a micro USB charger, like the ones you see on your tablet or phone. As a result, you can now share chargers between multiple devices, and if it gets lost, forgotten at home, left in a library study carrel, or lost during travel, you can use any other standard micro USB charger instead of having to special order a special cable online.

The construction of 11 Chromebook is a combination of high-and low-end, with providing a lightweight magnesium frame rock solid support for the chassis, and a glossy white exterior, to look beautiful, but feel like it's plastic . It's a strange juxtaposition, but the result is a design with more premium feel than can expect from a $ 279 device. No flexing at all when lifting the laptop through a corner, and despite weighing a light 2.3 pounds, it does not feel flimsy or low quality.

Chromebook covering 11 is a glowing multi-colored stripe, similar to that seen in the Google Chromebook Pixel (64GB, LTE). Although clearly put the size and price of HP Chromebook 11 alongside Samsung and Acer models, it is also the first elements cheap Chromebook to draw designs from Pixel premium price. In addition to the linear Moonlight, also the interior magnesium frame.

The keyboard is a Chrome keyboard, with the same kind of chiclet keys and Chrome layout visible to other Chromebook. Caps Lock is switched for a dedicated Google Search key, and along the top of the keyboard some Chrome-specific function keys (Across from left to right: Escape, Back, Forward, Reload, Full Screen, Next Window, Brightness Down / up, Volume mute / Down / up, Power). What is different, however, is the addition of aa colored stripe around the keyboard, a little accent to match the footpads of colored underside.

The keyboard also functions as a hidden speaker grill, with sound playing from under the keys. The sound quality is not terrible, and while the sound is getting a bit high as Reedy, Buzzing there's nothing to be so common in the low-priced system. Bass is, as expected, rather weak, but the placement of the speakers directly under the keyboard means that you think it far more than you would in any other configuration. All things considered, the HP Chromebook sound better than the other sub-$ 300 laptop that I tried.
