As a new approach to 2-in-1 design that combined tablet and laptop, we've seen many fresh devices come under the umbrella of these two categories, from cheap detachable tablet premium laptop that's been around to indi- offer an experience with tablet-like. Between these two extremes, however, a gap, with few systems that offer laptop-class performance, ease tablet-like, and budget-friendly pricing. Toshiba is hoping to deliver just that with satellite Click 2 L35W-B3204 ($ 586.99 as tested), a 13-inch detachable tablet that gives you full Windows experience and an affordable price. Whether or not this is a good tablet or laptop is quite another matter.

The Click 2 answers Toshiba 2-in-1 devices like the Lenovo Yoga convertible and detachable 2 13 Asus Transformer Book T100TA the (64GB). In fact, with its 13-inch display, and a full-size keyboard, the Click It 2 offer laptop-like experience. Despite its entry-level price, this is also a step up from its other peers budget-oriented, which tend to be smaller and rely on cheap Intel Atom processor. At present, the best of the entry-level 2-in-1 system is the Editors' Choice Asus T100TA, with a 10.1-inch display. (Note that the Click 2 is the second iteration Click the line. Though we reviewed the original Toshiba Satellite Click W35Dt-AST2N01, the previous model featured a similar 13-inch design and price, common resolutions and basic performance.)

The 13.3-inch display with 10 finger touch capabilities and technology In-Plane Switching (IP), but only basic 1366-by-768 resolution. The size of the 2-click makes for not only a bigger picture, but also a more comfortable keyboard and trackpad. Means a larger size is also larger tablet when removed, and the tablet portion of Click 2 measures 0.6 by 13 by 9.6 inches (HWD) and weighs 2.45 pounds, making it unwieldy to use on the go, but it is useful on a desk or when you are curled up on the couch. When docked, the system weighs 4.9 pounds, and errors up to 0.9 inches thick.

exactly the docking mechanism, a hinged latch feels flimsy and difficult, with a particularly stiff sliding latch lock. Once attached, however, the docking hinge hold the tablet reasonably well, with only a slight wobble when using the touch screen. In all of these already built in the tablet laptop hardware, using the 2-click when docked is a bit of a balancing act, as the whole thing is a bit top-heavy. When closed, the hinge tablet and docking are contoured to provide a very similar profile to a standard laptop.

The biggest flaw is the keyboard docking keyboard itself is wide and spacious with black tile keys, but they almost feel too spread out to have very little travel when pressed, but issues such as spacing can be somewhat subjective, so try before you buy. Set just left of the center to the spacebar is a clickpad with support for all common Windows 8 gesture controls, like swiping side to access the Charms Bar or turn on the open apps.
